Questions we get

Straight answers
before you call

The things organizers ask us most, answered plainly. If yours is not here, call (614) 414-6899 and a real person picks up.

What does iTickets cost?

There is no platform fee and no setup cost. Our fees are built into the ticket price and paid by the buyer, so you keep your face value, your facility fee and any rebate. We quote every event individually because a two day festival and a 300 seat theater are not the same deal. Call (614) 414-6899 and we will give you a real number, not a range.

Do buyers see the fees before they check out?

Yes. Nothing gets sprung on your patron at the last screen. If you would rather the number on your poster be the number your patron pays, we can build the fees into the ticket price instead and show one all in figure from the start. You decide which way it reads, and either way the buyer knows the total before they pay.

When do we get paid?

Your payout schedule is set before you go on sale, so you know the timing going in. You can also run ticket sales through your own merchant account, which means the money lands in your bank directly and never sits with us. Most platforms will not do that. We will.

Can you handle reserved seating?

Yes, and we build the chart for you. Send us your seating layout and our team draws it, including odd shaped rooms, tables, boxes, tiered pricing, holds and accessible seats. Buyers pick their exact seat on a map that works the same on a phone as it does on a desktop. If your venue changes its configuration between shows, we adjust it.

Where do we actually manage the event?

In Box Office, our backend. It is the one place you build the event, set ticket types and pricing, adjust your seating, hold and comp seats, run discount codes, sell at the window, void and refund orders, watch your gate count as people come through and pull your reports and buyer data. One login for your whole team, with permissions so your staff and volunteers see what they need and nothing they should not. No stitching three tools together to find out how the night went.

What do we use at the gate?

Scan with our hardware or with any phone your staff already carries. Scanning keeps working when the wifi drops and syncs back up when it returns, which matters in a field or a metal building. The same system sells at the window, prints tickets, takes cash and cards, and shows your gate count in real time from anywhere.

Will your system hold up when we go on sale?

Yes. A big on sale is a rush by design, so we run a queuing system that puts buyers in an orderly line and keeps checkout working through the spike. Everyone keeps their place, nobody stares at an error page, and the minute your event gets the most attention is not the minute your sales stop.

Do you help us sell more tickets?

Yes. We can put your event in front of iTickets buyers who already attend events like yours, segmented by genre, geography and purchase history. On your side, you own your buyer data. You get the emails, the tracking, referral codes for your artists and sponsors, and reporting that shows which channel actually sold the ticket. More on that at marketing services.

Can we export our buyer list whenever we want?

Yes, any time, in full. Your buyer data belongs to you, so names, emails and order history are yours to pull whenever you want it, as often as you want it. You do not have to file a request and wait, and you do not have to leave it behind if you ever move on. A list you own is the cheapest way to sell your next event.

Whose brand is on the checkout?

Yours, if you want it that way. White label checkout is an option we can set up, not the default. When you turn it on, checkout embeds on your own website, styled with your colors and your logo, so patrons never feel like they left your site, and every touchpoint from the listing page to the confirmation email carries your branding instead of ours. Plenty of organizers are happy selling on iTickets pages and getting found by our buyers. Tell us which you want and we will build it that way.

Who helps our ticket buyers?

We do, by phone, from the United States. Your patrons reach a person instead of a help center, and we are here during your event, not only during business hours. That call volume never lands on your box office, and you get a named contact on our side too. Our number is (614) 414-6899.

Who handles refunds?

You do, from your own dashboard, and you set your own refund policy. Refund a whole order or a single ticket, all of it or part of it, back to the original card or as cash or check. Refunding returns the money. Voiding returns the seat to your sellable inventory. You can do both in one step or either one on its own. Two practical notes worth knowing up front: a partial refund has to wait for the original charge to settle, usually about a day, and our fees on the original sale are still due even when you refund the fees to your buyer.

What happens if we have to cancel the event?

We take the mechanics off your plate. Once you tell us, we mark the show cancelled, stop online sales, hide the listing and pull any scheduled marketing so nothing keeps promoting a date that is not happening. Every buyer gets an email with the reason, their refund instructions and any message you want to send them, so your phone does not become the refund line. Refunds go back to the original payment method from whoever collected the money, and buyers who paid cash or check are pointed to that payee. Most refunds land within 14 to 21 business days. Ticket fees are not refundable, since that service was already delivered, and we will walk you through exactly how fees and settlement reconcile on the way out.

What happens when a buyer disputes a charge?

We fight it for you. Our team tries to reach the buyer by phone and email, then submits the evidence to the processor on your behalf, and we contest nearly every dispute instead of writing it off. Banks do sometimes side with the cardholder. When a dispute is lost, the ticket money and the processor's dispute fees come back out of the event, because that revenue had already been paid to you. You hear that from a person on our team, not from a bank statement, and you never have to argue a dispute on your own.

What if a buyer's plans change?

Purchase Protection is built into the checkout experience and available to eligible buyers on events running on the iTickets processor. If something unexpected keeps someone from attending, they can request reimbursement for covered circumstances directly through the protection provider. The claim sits between the buyer and that provider, and you keep your ticket revenue either way. We believe it gives people more confidence to commit early, which matters most on advance sales.

We already use another platform. How hard is switching?

Easier than most people expect, because we do the setup work. We build your event pages and seating charts, bring over your past orders and buyer list where your current provider allows it, and stay on the phone with your team through your first on sale. Tell us your announce date and we will work back from it.

Are we locked into a contract?

No long term contract, no exclusivity and no automatic renewal. Term varies by deal and whatever we agree to goes in writing, but we are not going to tie you up for years or quietly renew you while you are busy. If we stop earning your business you should be able to leave. That is a fair test for any partner.

What kinds of events do you work with?

Music festivals, conferences, churches and ministries, promoters and tours, agritourism, haunted attractions, rodeos, fairs, theaters and museums. Some are selling 300 tickets and some are selling 30,000. We also work with plenty of organizers who have never sold a ticket online before, and we do not make them figure it out alone.

Still have a question?

Tell us about your event and we will come back with a real number on fees, not a range. Rather talk it through? Call (614) 414-6899.
